Assuming your email address is valid, have you checked any spam filters/folders?

Anyway, you have a PM. I reset your password and triggered reactivation of your account. You should get an email from the board asking you to click a link and activate it.

Moontears, what error messages did you receive? Were you able to log in at all? If so, did you change anything in your account?

When I went to check your account, it was already showing as active. I deactivated it, and then reactivated it, just in case. Can you give it another try?

Congrats to Trapeze! I look forward to giving her a run for her money in the future and know that Nobuko has the same attitude towards me too!

My personal kudos go out firstly to ALL the skippers that took part in the races and the hours of practice and study they committed to be in the competition. Second to the ACA 33 committee that developed, organized and managed a wonderful event.. Third, to all those enthusiastic spectators and behind the scenes folks passionate about community competition and, all their support. Everyone in this community benefitted from this united energy!

I am honored and proud to be Co-Commodore of Starboards Yacht Club. But above that, I am proud that Starboards is unbiasedly able to bring value to our community, sister clubs and our guests. However, from my personal perspective, this was NOT a club competition and recognition of the sailors that participated should take the spotlight, not what club they are affiliated with. Most highly active sailors are members of multiple clubs or groups, including me.

ACA Skippers! You Rock!
ACA33 Committee! You Rock!
And above all, the sailing community ROCKS!

Folks,

I am going to start the forum upgrade as soon as the board shows me that no registered accounts are logged in.

The board will be unavailable during this process.

The upgrade is expected to take a couple of hours, maybe four hours at the most.

Once it is complete, I will reactivate the old site with a new section for you to post any support queries should you have difficuly logging into the new site.

It seems a couple of people misinterpret the topic I started.

I am by no means interested to make sailing in SL look ugly just for the sake of reducing lag. I do however want to point attention to the lag factors we create ourselves, to the impact our pretty skins have on everyone's performance in sailing.

That doesn't stop with the people sailing. Yesterday I noticed again that there were some 9 avatars present pre-start in Blake Sea - Pacific. With 2 racers, 1 or 2 people to monitor the start and a camera, you should not have more than 5, maximum 6 people there at such a time.
Everyone 'feeling important' and thinking they must show themselves there, instead of taking their responsibility doesn't help the lag. If you would dress up the officials in a neutral uniform, without heavy textured skins, it would already help.. But I bet even they won't do this, since they all 'have to show themselves', instead of simply giving the place to the racers, the people everyone comes for.

really i think this is an excellent topic for abstract thinking - but when it starts to appear that performance enhancing de-texturising is being used to game the system, i think we are talking about a whole 'nother pot o' honey.

I have a distinctly suave 'black hole' avatar which performs flawlessly and by all accounts should be the least lag-inducing. it RUTHS you. Yes, a cloud sailing a tako might seem odd, but it would score well according to this theory.

from a technical point of view it does maintain legitimacy because the size of the handshake between regions impacts the crossing lag/crash rate correspondingly. The lindens have said so during stressful interrogation. it is definitely a plus to SAIL NAKED in SL. Is it a conspiracy to make everyone uniform? Is it a crime to want to sail naked? roflmao

its def not a plan to reduce individuality. tinting is still absolutely encouraged! have fun with it!

Some of the video Nber and I shot of the SL-ACA Cup that am looking at in the editing process makes the hair stand up on my neck (do NOT try and imagine that).

It looks like there will be two full videos covering the Fleet Races and two or three to cover the Quarters, Semis, and Finals.

They will all be premiered at the

MarkTwain White Show
next Saturday night at 6pm
at the Hollywood Bowl.

And another exciting video will follow those. Nber and I videoed extended start sequences for most of the races, especially the Quarters thru Finals. Many of them from the -2:00 mark. These will be compiled in a future video for study, teaching, and just damn good fun watching great racing.
