Can be done better, it was our first time, joepie had some issues. It was fun, and it was also great for the TW that she had a nice downwind run on the last leg. We both liked the course.

Mostly I have used this awesome and beautiful offshore beast for fast sunbathing-flying cruises with friends onboard, with long offshore legs on wide open seas, so I´m not so used in the best racing strategy around courses and buoys with her. So surely this can be done much better. ;)

F4 Again

Postby Alain Gloster » Tue Mar 11, 2008 5:09 am

ACC v2.0
wind 85 deg 11m/sec
bad weather on the sim crossings meant there were at least 3 full stops each run so the boat can definately go faster
times
5:22
5:29
5:29
5:32

UPDATE: finally got a run with only one stop...the time was 5:17

F4, wind 85 deg 11m/sec, no tidal current
Manul Rotaru - ACC 2.0

[18:01] Start Line (2 Way): 1: Manul Rotaru - +00:05:39 (05:27)
[18:01] Start Line (2 Way): Lap Times:
[18:01] Start Line (2 Way): Manul Rotaru-- lap 0: +00:00:12
[18:01] Start Line (2 Way): Manul Rotaru-- lap 1: +00:05:39

[18:16] Start Line (2 Way): 1: Manul Rotaru - +00:05:35 (05:32)
[18:16] Start Line (2 Way): Lap Times:
[18:16] Start Line (2 Way): Manul Rotaru-- lap 0: +00:00:03
[18:16] Start Line (2 Way): Manul Rotaru-- lap 1: +00:05:35

My first F4 with the 2.0 final version, which also has advanced sail trim/polars qualities as the new version, aside from the more subtle windshadowing and the tidal current feature, and so on...

ACC v2.0

Postby Alain Gloster » Wed Mar 12, 2008 3:16 am

ACC v2.0
Wind 85 spd 11 current on (but not showing a current yet..I think it gets implemented for USS tomorrow)

Continuing the saga of trying to find a hole in the storm and ignoring the multiple bad ones from now on.

1 really bad tranfer at Santa Rosa (rounding the pink bouy I went submarine for half a sim)
5:15

1 full run with no major inturruptions
5:03

and of course the next 4 runs were crappy and in the 5:20 range

Knowing Manuls skill vs my own I'm pretty sure he'll break 5 on a clear day

Hey, that´s an understatement about your own skills, some days ago I saw you performing ACC-Hotlaps while I did the same with my TW on another course nearby, and once we have funraced Trudeaus together with other sailing buddies, u remember? So I know that you are a very fast and good sailor... hehe...

Congrats for your 05:03 to 05:17 times... these are really very good results. 8)

Same again this run... ;)

I think we also should post the 05:twenty-something and 05:thirty-somethings times with the ACC 2.0. Getting stopped down for a moment by sim borders is part of the average allday sailing in SL, of course it happens during the hotlaps of other boats and skippers also, and:

Jane Fossett wrote:5. Since we are trying to compare the performance of different Trudeau boats on the same course, skippers should post what they consider to be their "good" finish times, not just their "absolute best" times. A "good finish time" would be the time it takes them to complete the course without making mistakes and without excessive lag. If a skipper does several laps and comes up with fairly consistent "good finish times," they should post each of the scores, not just the best one.
