EASTER SUNDAY Big-Boat Handicap....NYC.....12th April 4.0pm

The main aim for running these races as a handicapped event is to enable a wide variety of yacht to compete on a more even and fun footing. As things stand there are no PHRF ratings for some of the newer yachts, particularly the VO-J and the RC-J as usually raced here so previously I have taken advice for the ratings. In the first race Tig’s VO-J rocketted past my ACA33 on one leg and completely ruined my hair through her bow-wave; yet she only finished 20 seconds ahead which is put down to not being able to sail as close to the wind. However, as I have said at earlier meets I decided to ease the guestimates for the VO-J down to 1.30

Congratulations to Tig for whooshing around and winning three of the timed events and also to Iccy for one win.
In the handicapped events Congrats to yours truly and to Iccy, both with two wins.

I don’t normally single other skippers out but I must congratulate Callie Juran who was thrilled to tell me that she had at last managed to finish a race; a first for her. WOOT !!!!!
